Latest Project of The Inlet Condo

The Inlet Condominium is an eighteen-story post-tensioned concrete structure with a below grade 2-story parking structure constructed around 1984. United Engineering Consultants was hired in 2002 to evaluate the structure. UEC worked with the Client to design a project scope and budget to repair concrete damaged from corrosion of the reinforcing steel and to mitigate future corrosion. UEC put the project out to bid and oversaw the work which started in 2005 and included repair of wide spread concrete damage and post-tensioned cables, installation of new aluminum handrails, sliding glass doors and windows, waterproof deck coatings, sealants and painting. UEC was on-site on a regular basis to oversee the construction and provide project management. Following the 2005 project, UEC continued working with the Association by providing engineering services for other minor repair projects. UEC was again hired in 2014 to bid out and oversee a painting and waterproofing project. During the project post-tensioned cables in the parking deck were found broken due to corrosion. UEC worked with the Association to discuss repair options and agreed an external post-tensioned cable system installed under the parking deck would provide the most economical repair.
